Living a Compassionate Life in Modern Times

Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche Makes His First Visit to Alaska!
with Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche
Saturday, May 25, 2019 to Sunday, May 26, 2019
Wat Dhamma Bhavana Buddhist Center
Anchorage,
AK
USA

In these 4 talks, Rinpoche will teach how the basis of a compassionate heart is something we all share. The speed and complexity of modern life need not hinder our ability to express decency, respect, love, and care to our fellow sentient beings. In fact, our increasing interconnectedness reveals the need to understand more deeply our common wish for happiness and freedom from suffering. Deep within that wish is a warmth of heart, a tenderness that is as natural to us as our heartbeat. To live a compassionate life means to uncover that warmth of heart and make it your priority to extend it to others even in the face of contemporary challenges such as materialism, cynicism or doubt, or the power of technology to distract us from what is most meaningful.
