Spirituality in Difficult Times: 14 Precepts of Thich Nhat Hanh

with Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel
Saturday, April 29, 2017 to Sunday, April 30, 2017
Pema Osel Do Ngak Choling

“Avoid being narrow-minded and bound to present views.… Through compassionate dialogue, help others renounce fanaticism and
narrowness” – Thich Nhat Hanh
In these charged times, it is important for all of us to pause and reflect upon where we are coming from, so that we can respond to challenges wisely rather than add to the collective confusion. The goal of any spiritual practice is to connect us to our own basic sanity, which gives us a ground for intelligent and heartfelt action. When our minds and hearts are clear and open, the difficulties we face may even bring out the best of our human potential.
Join us for an inspiring and provocative weekend as Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel shares her insights on navigating today’s world, based on Thich Nhat Hanh’s Fourteen Precepts of Engaged Buddhism and on her own extensive experience as a Buddhist practitioner.
