"If we think we're going to practice next month, next year, or in some years to come, only after we have gathered all our needs and circumstances, then we have not realized the impermanence of life or the impermanence of all phenomena."
- Venerable Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche - NSS 2002

NYINGMA SUMMER SEMINAR
The annual Nyingma Summer Seminar presents the opportunity to attend direct teachings, during which Rinpoche offers instruction across a wide range of traditional subjects and introduces new perspectives on fundamental Buddhist principles and practice. The nine-day structure of NSS consists of three progressive segments, corresponding to the three yanas, or vehicles, of Tibetan Buddhism. Like A Diamond is the unabridged collection of talks from NSS 2002, fully edited and annotated.

This volume contains a wealth of practice guidance for long-time students as well as newcomers. The seventeen talks revolve around the theme of transformation, beginning with an in - depth exploration of the foundational practices of refuge, renunciation, and taking vows. In the Mahayana segment, Rinpoche provides an exposition of the Lojong , or mind - training tradition, which is central to the Tibetan Buddhist path. Concluding with the Vajrayana segment, Rinpoche illuminates several profound short texts from three preeminent masters: Longchenpa; the great Sakya founder, Kunga Nyingpo; and Gampopa.

In furnishing an expansive overview of the Tibetan Buddhist path, Like A Diamond provides an indispensable basis for understanding and following the path toward enlightened transformation.
