Rigdzin Dupa Drupcho

Phuntsok Choling
Boulder, CO

January 28-February 4, 2010

Elizabeth Mattis-Namgyel will lead this Rigdzin Dupa drupcho.

The drupcho for the anniversary of Künchyen Longchen Rabjam is a group practice intensive of making 100,000 tsok offerings within the Rigdzin Düpa sadhana. The Rigdzin Düpa is the main practice of the guru mandala of the Three Roots practice of the Longchen Nyingthik, a terma cycle revealed by Rigdzin Jigmé Lingpa in three visions of Künchyen Longchen Rabjam. This annual practice has become a Mangala Shri Bhuti tradition for dispelling obstacles and increasing harmony and peace in the world.

Registration

The drupchos are open to formal MSB sangha members who have gone through the Sangha Ceremony.  Kongtrul Rinpoche has asked that practitioners of other traditions or sanghas who wish to attend send an email formally requesting to attend. The email should state who you are, where you come from, and who your teacher is. This formal request to attend is required before registering.

In addition we request that you send your letter of request early as space is limited, and most importantly, after the program begins we will not be able to accept new attendees.

Please send your email to the CO Heads of the Dharmarakcha Department:

dharmarakcha@mangalashribhuti.org.

They will contact you to let you know the request has been received.

You may register for the entire drupcho or by day. The cost for the entire program is $60. If you register by day, the cost is $10. These amounts cover operating expenses only, in keeping with our wish to make practice programs of this nature accessible to
all.

Offerings

The emphasis of this practice is on the feast portion of the sadhana and it is important that the tsok offerings be rich and abundant, so please be generous. Drupcho Shopping Coordinators will purchase tsok offerings for participants. We suggest $30 a day.

Pre-registration

Pre-registration for the drupcho is strongly encouraged, as it allows us to plan for plentiful offerings throughout the drupcho. You may register online using the links that follow or you can download a registration form and mail it to us. You will be able to register for both the program itself and the amount of offering you would like to make.

Practice Notes:

If you are not able to attend full days, individual sessions are allowed and encouraged by Rinpoche but you must attend a full session. In other words, you should not enter a session once it has begun or leave early. If you do not attend the first session of the day you will need to catch up in the liturgy or recite the Seven Line Supplication before joining the group practice. We advise that you arrive no later than when the previous session is scheduled to end.

What to Bring:

Liturgy: Guests will be provided with liturgies for use during the event. Students of Rinpoche are required to bring their own liturgies.

Practice Materials: mala/counters, kapala, bell/dorje, and damaru. (Tantrikas are required to use the above practice materials, for others, they are optional.)

Water Bottles (Food and drinks are not permitted in the shrine room)

Lunch/Snacks
