BLAZING SADHANA PRACTICE
The Blazing Sadhana is a collection of prayers, mantras, and aspirations complied by the Ven. Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. This sadhana was especially created to be practiced by our sangha following the death of a fellow MSB Sangha member. Copies of this liturgy can be purchased by MSB Sangha members through our MSB Texts and Liturgies dept. In general, death is central to our lives and paths. Sangha member should contemplate their process of aging, sickness, and dying and should make preparations. If you have any questions about this topic please contact Bob Reid.

PROTECTOR PRAYERS
One can purchase a copy of the General Daily Protector Prayers and meet with an SPR, MI, or khenchung to receive instructions on how to do this practice. This practice can be done by practitioners at any level after completing the sangha ceremony, but becomes a standard once one starts doing the Sadhana practice. The Extended Protector Prayers can be done along with a recording of Rinpoche doing them. To purchase a recording of Rinpoche's recitation of the Extended Protector Prayers please contact Susan Martich. Rinpoche made the following comments about this topic:

Once you've become a sangha member through the sangha ceremony, I think the lineage and blessing and protection for that will be there. That's my hope. You could do the short version or the long one. A lot of people like doing these prayers because they make them feel secure. Especially for those who feel shaky and often can't settle their minds, doing the long protector chants seems to have a very positive effect on them. I don't think you have to receive a lung or empowerment for these prayers; you could just do them with faith and trust that since you are part of this lineage, the protectors will honor you, and you will also honor them by making offerings and doing the chants. I think it will work very well.

VAJRA GURU MANTRA RECITATION
MSB students at every level of practice are encouraged to recite the Vajra Guru Mantra both in formal sessions and in post-meditation with the aim of reciting a total of 100 million mantras over a lifetime. This recitation is combined with an aspiration to be reborn in Guru Rinpoche's pure realm in the next life. DOWNLOAD Personal Link #198 (zip folder), to learn more about the significance of aspiring to be reborn in this pure realm.
