Giving to Those in Need

Asian Charity Fund

The Asian Charity Fund (ACF) is a charitable fund administered by Mangala Shri Bhuti. One hundred percent of the funds are used for compassionate and charitable activities under the direct supervision of Kongtrul Rinpoche. Rinpoche travels to India annually to make offerings at the significant sites of the Buddha's life and give to those in need. With a donation to the Asian Charity Fund, one directly and personally connects to Rinpoche's meritorious activities, and practices generosity oneself.

During Rinpoche's most recent pilgrimage to India, the ACF funded 100,000 butter lamp offerings at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya, generous food and flower offerings to the statue of the Buddha inside the temple, and cash offerings to monks and nuns practicing on the temple grounds. As well, the fund supported 600 people who live outside of Bodhgaya by providing blankets and a one-month supply of food for each of them; this was accomplished for a little more than $2,000 US.

To donate to the Asian Charity Fund, make your check payable to MSB and write Asian Charity in the memo, or visit our Store to make a donation on-line. All donations made to the fund are tax deductible.
